Any word on launching with BBC America's HD channel next month?

should be 9 HD Channels, With VIACOM HD Channels should be MSG HD, MSG + HD and FIOS 1 HD. Will FIOS 1 HD be a channel and what is the update from the FCC regarding MSG HD and MSG + HD. its one month on June 28

So, when will we see a press release for : MSNBC HD BBC America HD NASA-TV (SD and HD) (oh yeah, and can you buy DirectTV and end the "exclusivity" of Sunday Ticket!!!! :)

Eric, Can you provide a clear definitive status on MSNBC-HD, in the Philly area market? They went HD June 29, but not on FIOS.

Never mind how exciting it will be to have some more HD channels, we want to know WHEN we will be getting MSNBC in NJ? It is a basic important news channel. I am disgusted and would not have signed on if I had realized. I assumed that it would be provided. Please advise.

Who cares about the extra 6 HD channels. When are you going to make NASA-TV available. The government makes it available for free so why the delay -- Oh yeah, it is because you will not be making any money via advertising. You are going to lose existing customers and I already know some who will not switch over because of this and other unavailable channels

Why hasn't BBC America HD become available yet? I seriously want a legitimate answer. If your slogan is "This is fios. This is big". you should at least have bbc hd.

Although my daily BBC America News and Programming is emblazoned with "BBC HD" it is far from being actually that. Is their a potential turnover date to add this to our HD Programming, which is by the way, a "At Cost For Us Verizon FIOS Customers" why deny us. Please advise. We want our BBC America HD...!!! The lack of BBC America HD is the biggest factor keeping me from moving to FiOS. If it was available the wife would be telling me to have the switch done yesterday rather than saying to hold off.

Since these comments are moderated, is there any chance the moderator could have someone from Verizon respond to our requests for BBC America HD? One of my primary reasons for switching from Cablevision two years ago was to get BBC America. Now BBCA is just about the only channel I watch that is NOT in HD on FiOS. No recriminations for not having it at the launch; there wasn't much leadtime. But hey, it's been six months since then. I see other new channels showing up. Since I just renewed to a more expensive HD package than the no-longer-available choice I used to have, BBCA HD would be a welcome addition. Please add it to the line-up.

Verizon seem to be ignoring many comments from CUSTOMERS wanting BBC America in HD. Comcast is readying not only BBC AMerica in HD but also BBC America On Demand. I for one will switch if Verizon doesn't extract their digitAL ......

Surely Fios will eventually carry BBCA HD. I just want to know WHAT PURPOSE does the delay serve other than to piss off Fios customers? I'll also throw in another futile request for NASA TV, but it's obvious that Fios doesn't pay much attention to what their customers want. Brick walls are far more responsive.

This is becoming a community petition for Verizon to add BBC-HD to their Fios line-up, and I'm signing on too. Top Gear just isn't the same in SD.

Why can nobody at Verizon come back with a constructive answer, it is obvious that most people would like to watch BBC America HD and for over a year nothing has moved on what so ever. Verizon must know why this is, so inform your customers if you want to keep them, people won't hang on forever!

It appears that many of us really want BBC America in HD. Some kind of an answer from Verizon would go a long way towards making most of us happier. For example, I would imagine most of us on here would rather hear "We'll introduce BBCA in HD in six months" rather than hearing nothing at all. It's like waiting on an airplane when there's a delay. Studies have shown that passengers remain calm for much longer periods of time if they are told WHAT'S GOING ON. The worst form of customer service is to ignore people and the second worse is to say "there's no word yet..."

Why no BBC America HD? It launched almost a year ago. FIOS is telling us that BBC America isn't on the list of "most-watched content"? Really?

Season Five of "Doctor Who" premieres on April 17, 2010 -- (with the NEW Doctor!) on BBC America. It is unbelievable that FIOS *still* refuses to sign a contract with BBC America HD so it's many, many customers who are fans of this show can watch it in High Def. For heaven's sake, FIOS -- sign the contract already! Those of us who are paying an extra premium for your Extreme HD line-up deserve no less.

When, ohh when will VZ add BBC America HD channel to the lineup. Watching Top Gear in SD is impossible. Why is this taking so long? Pleeeeeeese!!!!

NASA TV PLEASE!!! The fact that there are forum posts everywhere and this is a free, government station made it pretty hard to believe it isn't on FIOS. Hell, I had in Michigan with no NASA sites and now I live 5 min from Goddard in Maryland and can't get NASA TV.

I have been waiting for over a year on FIOS for BBC HD and am now seriously considering moving to a competitor. I see DirectTV has both BBC HD and Fox Soccer HD for less money.

I see the "Huge" impact that these (HD)channels would have in NJ, especially Ocean County- Where the Long time provider, Comcast Cable, Infact does carries ALL Philadelphia LOCAL Channels on Comcast Cable, here, in Ocean County NJ- (Toms River) area. If Verizon was on the ball with gaining "Market Perspcective"- Then Ocean County, NJ would be getting more Local's from the Philadelphia Market, Not only the New York Market. Many people Complain about this subject, still use HDTV Antenna's & Have asked Fios to carry the Philly Locals in Ocean County, NJ. The town we are in Ocean County- Clearly watches Many, Many Philadelphia Local Network channels- As well as the entire County. Philadelphia Local network Channels that (Cable) carries here- Provides more (Local) news & weather for our area, and Traffic-- Not the NY Local Market Networks, The NY Market Local Channels do not provide this information as much for this area. (I have No need to see Network Weather, or Traffic conditions Approx. 75 Miles North from where I live in NJ) Verizon Fios has managed to add (WPVI- 6 ABC) finally to customers in Ocean County,(SD & HD.)- Great move to do that... Out of Research, This has caused current customers to Cancel, or not Re-New with Fios-TV, Because in this County- Both local Sets from NY, and Philadelphia, are carried by Comcast Cable in the entire county-- But not with Fios-TV. This is very important, Verizon must understand that Ocean County, NJ- Has Always recieved Both Local Networks from NY, & Philadelphia. Unfortunatley- Verizon only carries (WPVI- 6 ABC) at this time, out of Philadelphia, which is better then nothing. I know many people in Zip codes (08753)&(08723) are very Un-Happpy that Fios does not carry but only One Channel out of Philly. It is imperative that Verizon looks into this, as Verizon Fios is great- But Eventually Fios-TV Customers are, or will go back with our local Cable Co, Simply because Fios is not piping through the Local Philadelphia Channels that we have been receiving for 40+ Years in this area. (With exception to WPVI-PHILA regarding Philly)-- This situation is all over the internet, People want Philadelphia Stations here, as they have been provided since the (OTA) Days of TV. Verizon Fios-Tv is able to Provide (1) Local ABC channel from Philadelphia- Then Verizon should work very, very hard to add the remaining Philadelphia Local Affilates- for Various reasons. It is Great that Fios-Tv is now providing (WPVI-6abc) to Ocean County, but it does not provide (KYW-CBS-3) -(WCAU-NBC-10) -(WTXF-FOX-29) -(WPHL-MYTV-17) -(WPSG-CW-57) -(WHYY-PBS). These channels are available to us, and have been along with NY Local Channels through Cable, and Sat. for decades. One would think that Verizon Fios-TV would not only just add (1)Philadelphia Local Channel, But all- or Most of them. If 2 other TV providers in Ocean County- ZIP (08753) & (08723) offer both New York Local Affilates & Philadelphia Affilate Locals, then what is Verizon doing about Adding more then just one Philadelphia local Channel, but offering all of the NY Local channels?? Once again, Verizon Fios made a very Smart Step by adding (WPVI-ABC-PHILA), but is seeming to ignore the remaining Channels in the Philadelphia Market- ie: (DMA). We are closer to most Philadelphia broadcasting towers then New York, and to mention- if you travel 40 miles North, Farther away from Philadelphia, Closer to NY, Then Fios Will Provide you BOTH sets of Locals in (Mercer County) from NY, & Phila. Mercer County is less then 50 miles from NY. Why does Verizon concentrate on a County that is Closer to NY, instead of Ocean County- Which is closer to Philadelphia? If you check into this, our entire area does desire both sets of channels, because they are provided by Cable in Ocean County, NJ. I am surprised that Verizon Fios is not giving this ( Local Channel ) situation from NY & PHILA. more attention, as a neighbor on my street canceled Fios-TV after his agreement, only Because Fios is not looking into the situation of carrying our Philadelphia Local Stations!! Any feedback from Verizon, or if anyone is having the same problem with just getting (1) Philadelphia local channel- Please Post! Fios, We need our Local Philadelphia Networks- Just like everyone else in Ocean County, NJ.

The absence of FOX Soccer HD on the Fios list of channels should be an embarrassment to them. I can understand the issues with getting MSG HD, but to “proudly” offer The World Fishing Network, Pet TV and RECIPE (you never saw a chicken until you saw it in HD) in High Def while not carrying Soccer in HD is inexplicable.

I'm a customer in the Boston market and I really do want to see BBC America HD and NASA TV HD. NASA TV, like Cspan, is FREE to cable providers. Please give us what our taxes already pay for! As for BBCA HD, with all the demand demonstrated on this one thread, what is so hard about adding the channel?

Totally fed up that there's still no BBC America HD on FioS. My bundle deal pricing has ended, so you just lost another customer to DISH.

Since satellite reception is bad where I live (too many obstructions), I have two choices: Fios and Cablevision Optimum/iO digital service. I just thought of a new strategy. I will start lobbying Cablevision to add BBC America HD. As soon as they have it, I can switch, along with my phone, Internet, and premium channels. Hmmm...just did the math. I'm paying Verizon over $2200 a year for service...maybe I should drop down to just Internet service with Vonage for phone, and wait for my favorite shows (Top Gear, Doctor Who, etc.) to arrive on Blu-Ray and see them with my Netflix subscription. No commercials, perfect picture, and a helluva lot faster than waiting for Fios to deliver what would be a very popular channel if only they'd listened to us.

I was going to switch to Verizon fios until I found out that their soccer offerings are virtually non existent. Staying with brighthouse where i have fox soccer channel HD, fox soccer plus HD, gol hd, BBC America HD and many others. Verizonis charging $15 just for one channel , fox soccer plus in SD, not even HD. That is a dealbreaker for me. I would like to switch to fios for internet but their tv offerings are short of what brighthouse offers. This is in the tampa bay area.

BBC America is awesome!!! Love watching Law & Order and other great shows, but standard def is not as rich an experience as HD. I'd also like to see BET in HD. Why invest in HD equipment and not have a plethera of diverse HD selections?? More extensive premium HD channels would also be great. Encore has several channels but only one is offered in HD. Not good. Even Comcast and Dish Network have these channels!! I wouldn't go back to them because FIOS is GREAT, but more HD would make it even better.

We have had Verizon FIOS for 7 years now. MSNBC is still "unavailable" and there is not one answer to this question on this blog. There was, a year ago, a highly dubous response from Verizon "customer service" about Cablevision "blocking" the program. I also heard that Verizon didn't allow the program "in all areas" which was a deal-killer. Whatever the truth, Verizon has yet to provide THIS HD user with nearly half the HD channels listed - on our TV service - to date! How's that for anticonsumer tactics?!

I'm also disappointed that there's no BBC-HD and no Fox Soccer / Soccer Plus in HD. Honestly, I don't really care how many channels a provider offers, because I won't watch 90% of them anyway. I would really like to see BBC America in HD. I left Comcast for the FIOS HD package. Based upon the responses through the past year and a half, it's clear that the volume has not moved the discussion.

Please add Fox Soccer Channel and Fox Soccer Plus to the HD lineup. The quality of SD feeds on an HDTV is worse than the quality of SD feeds on an SDTV. For those of us with HDTVs FSC and FS+ quality is way below par whereas the ESPNHD games are excellent!

Lack of BBC America HD is simply inexcusable. Also very annoying, is lack of The Comcast Network HD, although this is a bit more understandable than BBCA-HD.

NASA TV...I have loved my FiOS service since day one, no mistake...and also no mistake, when i buy a new TV this year I will be forced to take a long hard look at changing providers. And yes, I WOULD change, just because of NASA TV. The failure to carry it is simply mind-boggling. All night long I can watch infomercials in HD, on all the channels like the ones you are bragging about adding. Big deal; more of same. I spend over $300 per month on Verizon services, and I truly am on the verge of quitting ALL of them for that one reason alone.

I like the idea of BBC in HD, but lets get the NASA channel first. Its insane to me that a free government channel in HD no less is not available on Fios. Of course when I say free I mean I have already paid for it with my tax dollars.

Please please add BBC America HD, your own words Fox Soccer HD was added because the "subscribers demanded it" and now BBCA HD "numbers" has surpassed FS HD when it was added, so where is the hang up?

Finally got into the HD market and was SHOCKED to see no BBC America in HD. Of all the things I watch, Top Gear should absolutely be seen in HD. Wth, Verizon? 2 years to get this done?!?

Any word when we can expect to see MSG and MSG+ in HD in the NY market? I know the FCC said Cablevision has to provide access within 30 days. With the start of hockey season, would be nice to see game in HD.
