Why is it that NY/NJ/CT are the only states to receive 20/20 service? We don't even have the ability to pick up 20/5 service here in Pennsylvania. We have plenty of competition here in the form of Comcast's "Blast!"+PowerBoost package at a comparable price to FiOS. Why am I paying the same price per month for 15/2 service while customers in NY are able to receive 20/5 for the same amount? It makes no sense why Verizon continues to up the speeds in one particular area while leaving the other areas to rot.

Because Cablevision offers 15/2 here(NYC) as their standard internet speed, and 30+/5 as their premium speed with port 80 & 25 openable. I say 30+ because the only limit is the network. Its a lot easier to offer faster speeds in NYC since it is the United States Internet hub and Internet connection to the world.

So its nice that they are offering this 20/20 service. I know they have the 50/20 service now too. What I don't understand is why I can't upgrade from the 50/5 plan to the 50/20 plan if the two have the same price! Someone to enlighten me?

When will the 20/20 service reach your Maryland customers and do you realize how poor it makes you look to boast about a feature that you cannot deliver nationwide?

Dale, symmetrical broadband is now available to all FiOS customers. If you can get FiOS, you can get either 20/20 or 15/15mbps. This post was up before it was widely available but only by a few days. I'll add an update

Ran, You can get upgraded, and depending on your state, the pice MAY have even gone down. Call 1-888-GET-FiOS (1-888-438-3467) to get it done.

Now only if the static plan customers can get the upgrades and at a reasonable cost... customer service says only applies to residential accounts.
