Thanks for the update. Glad to be kept in the loop as much as possible. It is a shame that MLB IE couldn't be ready for beginning of the season, but I am glad it is available, as well as CenterIce, and ALL the extra HD.

Thanks for the heads-up, Eric. FiOS TV customers, like myself, appreciate what you have been doing on this blog.

I'm missing the SciFi channel in HD from my old provider. And what about BBC America - we will see that in HD any time soon? For all the HD content I would also like to see it available in HD on demand too (Showtime etc).

What are the chances the NHL network will be added to the assortment? NHL Center Ice and MLB EI are great additions as well. Thanks

This is good news. If redoing the HD tier of Channels can you somehow make the local channel # correspond to thier station numbers. Hence in DC Metro area, ABC/WJLA Channel 7 would be 807 (it is now 803). This would help greatly. If you can't do that b/c the higher numbers are reserved for some other use. Can you make the channels fall in order on "the dial" such that Channel 4 (NBC) would be 801, Channel 5 (Fox) would be 802, Channel 7 (ABC) would be 803, etc. etc. Thanks for taking this under consideration.

Starting in July and ending ??? How about publishing a timetable...even if vague...on which areas will get the updates and when. Even a list of what order it will be rolled out.

Hello, what's going on with the Broadway Knolls Apartments complex in Holbrook, New York 11741. We were wired for FIOS in late 2006 through early 2007 and we even have the boxes on your units. Verizon trucks were all over this place and we were told by the working it should be up in the 2nd quarter of 2007 and we are still waiting for this to happen. We have your Phone service only. Can someone from Verizon FIOS please look into this. I have called and all they can say is it's not in your area yet but yes it is, everyone around us has FIOS but us. Thanks Chris

This is great! More HD is welcome. Keep up the good work! Question for you: Now that more HD programming will be available, will the Multi-Room HD DVR be able to stream recorded content to 6200 series HD receivers at some point soon? Right now only 2500 series SD receivers can view remote DVR content, and of course they cannot view any HD content at all, live or recorded. Some of us have more than one HDTV in the house. :-) Your TV ads make it seem like you can watch any content (SD or HD) using the multi-room DVR. But that is not true (yet)!

I find it interesting that Verizon is struggeling to expand its HD list. With what i have read so far, I must say I have not been impressed. All I have gotten so far is excuses and promises. I also must say that what I am looking for in HD programming is quality and relevence. I will not except a list of religious, shopping, and obscure sports programming as quality.

and XBOX Media Room support for *real* IPTV would be great. The STB software is just too slow and unresponsive.

C'mon! Here we go again! Why don't you stop mentioning MLB EI until you actually sign a deal? Your blog states MLB is "expected" and then you post a release where it isn't even mentioned. You didn't know a couple of days ahead of time that it wouldn't be in there? I give it one more month and then I am back to my old cable company. Have some integrity!

Good to hear about the new offerings. As a new Fios customer, I'm incredibly thrilled with the signal quality and throughput. However, customer support and service is terrible -- and to top it off, Verizon mistakenly deactivated my residential phone service today and can't turn it back on for 12 hours. I'm ready to switch back to my cable franchisee! Judging from my experience and the testimonies on the web, Verizon is going to start loosing customers if your customer service side doesn't start improving.

Will Setanta be added to the Sports package or will it be a stand-alone premium channel?

Dylan, Setanta is a premium. From their recent news release: Airing seven days a week, 24 hours per day, Setanta Sports will soon be available to FiOS TV customers for only $14.99 per month. CZ (Policyblog editor)

My two year contract with FiOS is set to run out soon and I have yet to see that Big ten network will be available for sure. I have been hearing for over a year now that it is in the works. That is one channel of the many that I desire but have yet to see added. Comcast has reach and aggrement to carry the Big Ten Network http://www.bigtennetwork.com/corporate/comcast.asp so I will be looking into changing to Comcast.

Is there any plans in the immediate future to make MSNBC available to us Northern NJ folk? I understand that there is a carriage agreement that exists between Cablevision and MSNBC that prevents Verizon from carrying MSNBC in those areas, but I live in a Comcast area. I'd love to be able to sign up for FIOS and still be able to catch their Olympic coverage this summer and election coverage this fall.

Dan, We are offering MSNBC in many parts of the NY Metro area where we're able to do so. For those areas that cannot currently receive MSNBC, we will offer the channel during the Olympic games so that none of our FiOS TV customers miss any of the Olympics action. As some of you already know, distribution rights currently are not granted to Verizon FiOS in markets where Cablevision is the incumbent provider. We have MSNBC on our lineup everywhere except the NY Metro area. Unfortunately, I can’t say when this restriction will end, but we hope to be able to offer MSNBC to our customers in the region as soon as possible. Eric

Robert, We know that sports and HD are important to our customers, and it’s a safe bet that if we don’t carry certain sports or HD programming today, we hope to carry it in the future. I just can’t comment here about plans for specific packages. Eric

"I just can’t comment here about plans for specific packages." Does that mean the Verizon will not be offering the NHL Center Ice package for the 2008/09 season?

NHL Channel, NHL On Ice, give us something regarding NHL! Right now on my beautiful HD TV we get nothing but local hockey games. And we are subject to blackouts. What gives? When are hockey games going to become available? Either as a channel or a package!
