It’s no secret that the telecommunications market is shifting, and some people are disconnecting the trusty landline and using wireless phones for voice service.  These same consumers still want reliable wireline broadband services that deliver what they advertise.  Verizon, with our superior wireless and wireline networks, is evolving along with the marketplace to bring consumers new service choices that fit their lifestyles and their pocketbooks.

Today, Verizon takes another significant step in its transformation to a broadband communications company as we launch the Verizon Flex Double Play bundle.  It enables customers to subscribe to Verizon Wireless service, add Verizon FiOS Internet service or High Speed Internet service -- and get it all on one bill.  Verizon FiOS TV service, where available, can also be added to create a triple-play bundle.

We think this offer will appeal to younger families and young professionals who rely on their cell phones for voice service.  A recent Harris Interactive poll showed that 89 percent of U.S. adults have a cell phone and, of that number, 14 percent said they use only their cell phones for voice service.  The new bundle also offers value and cost savings at a time when all customers are experiencing steadily rising prices for fuel and groceries.

The addition of the Verizon Flex Double Play bundle is the latest example of Verizon’s marketplace versatility.  It’s what network leadership is all about.
